After working with the Rivertown Taphouse for the Piermont Chamber of Commerce video, they hired me to give them a video ad that was more personalized to the restaurant that they could use around social media and on television.
I shot in the restaurant a few different times to catch the bar in different settings and situations to get more variety in the final cut. On one of those occasions, I also interviewed one of the owners, Charles Dorazio, who provided the narration. Rather than open with a formal introduction, I wanted to open with what he enjoys about owning a restaurant to establish a more immediate connection with the audience. I synced that up with one or two shots that punctuated that, then cut to a shot to introduce him. From there, we decided to veer away from any kind of story and instead show varying shots of the atmosphere and food offerings to entice people in.
